About our Fahne

In 1957, D’Holzhacker Buam acquired their Standart, or small flag, which was made in Bavaria. In 1965 the Standart was sent back to Bavaria to be made into our Club Flag. In 2000 we retired our original Club Flag and welcomed our new, current Club Flag that we proudly display in a case at the Schwabenhof and take to special festive functions that the club attends.

Retired Club Flag - Going to the Trachten museum in Germany

Our 1965 30th Anniversary and Fahnenweihe (flag blessing) was held with an International Trachtenfest at the Sheraton-Schroeder in Milwaukee. This International Trachtenfest was instrumental in serving as the ground breaking for the formation of the Gau. In 1966, a meeting was attended by presidents of Trachten Verein from all over the United States and Canada, and the rules and by laws were established for the Gauverband Nordamerika. Today, 70 vereins are members and meet in competition for prize plattling every two years.

New Club Flag

In 2000 our 65th Anniversary and Fahnenweihe (blessing of our new Club Flag) was celebrated at the Country Inn in Pewaukee, Wisconsin. It was a great time to reflect on our club’s history while looking forward to the future with great anticipation.
